Hitachi Payment Services’ Transit Payment Solution won the best transit payment system of the year award at the 4th Payment and Cards Awards in Mumbai. In line with the government’s Digital India initiative, digital payments for transport modes such as metros, has made lives simpler and more convenient for the common man. With Hitachi Payment Services’ cashless transit payment solution, customers can now conveniently make payments for both metro tickets as well as retail purchases. An open-loop card based ticketing system on Q-Sparc 2.0 standards, the payment solution is pioneering the transition from conventional closed-loop to an open-loop system in public transport. The open loop system is “purse-based” and provides efficient interoperability as it is based on National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) specifications.
